The major parking area for the east side of the Trail is the new Trailhead at the On The Dunes restaurant, just north of the Trail on Haggerty Rd. Other parking areas include Gunnar Mettala Park in Wixom and the east end of the ShearWater apartments, where there is a small parking lot for public use. WHERE CAN I PARK? - There is ample parking for Trail use available at the Walled Lake Trailhead site, on Pontiac Trail just north of Maple Rd.
Two additional miles west of Wixom Road are under development, with construction anticipated in 2022. More information is available on our Trail construction page. WHEN WILL THE TRAIL BE COMPLETED, WHAT IS PHASE TWO? - The segment of the Trail between Haggerty and Wixom Roads was recently constructed. IS THE TRAIL OPEN? - The Trail is open! There will be some periodic closings as we finish up a few Phase One items, but any closings will be brief in duration.
